Tracey Lewis-Giggetts

Tracey Michae’l Lewis-Giggetts is a renowned writer and thought-leader, known for her work exploring culture, identity, and spirituality. She founded HeARTspace, a healing community for trauma survivors using storytelling and the arts.

Tracey holds degrees in Communication (University of Kentucky), an MBA (Montclair State University), and an MFA (Fairleigh-Dickinson University). She is a former Assistant Professor of English and Black Studies at the Community College of Philadelphia.

She has published 23 books and collaborated with high-profile authors, including ghostwriting two New York Times bestsellers for Tabitha Brown. Notable works include Better Not Bitter by Yusef Salaam, The Other Side of Yet by Michelle Hord, and contributing to You are Your Best Thing, edited by Brene Brown and Tarana Burke.

Her 2022 book, Black Joy: Stories of Resistance, Resilience, and Restoration, won the 2023 NAACP Image Award. Her latest book, Then They Came for Mine: Healing from the Trauma of Racial Violence, won the 2023 Wilbur Award.

Tracey speaks nationally on race, social justice, education, faith, wellness, and DEI. Her work has appeared in Oprah Daily, The Washington Post, Essence Magazine, The Guardian, The Chronicle for Higher Education, Ebony Magazine, and TheRoot.com.
