THE STORY
About Lisa M. Johnson
Lisa M. Johnson is a Brooklyn-raised essayist whose work moves between memory and testimony — honoring the women who raised her and the neighborhoods that shaped her voice. Her writing has appeared across the Black REwrite community since 2024, where she explores grief, joy, and the quiet heroism of everyday Black life.
When she isn’t writing, Lisa leads storytelling circles and mentors emerging writers finding the courage to tell their first true story.
