ReWriter Application Terms

These Application Terms (“Terms”) govern your submission of an application to become a ReWriter with Black REwrite (“Black REwrite,” “we,” “us”). By checking the consent box and submitting the application form, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & Accuracy

You must be at least 18 years old to apply. You confirm that all information you submit — including your name, biography, photo, and links — is accurate, current, and yours to share.

2. What You Are Submitting

Your application may include personal information (name, email address), creative materials (biography, photograph), and links to your social media or website. You represent and warrant that you own, or have all necessary rights and permissions to submit, every element of your application, and that nothing you submit infringes the rights of any third party.

3. License You Grant Us

If your application is approved, you grant Black REwrite a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, format, excerpt, and promote your submitted materials on blackrewrite.com and on Black REwrite’s social media and marketing channels, in connection with your ReWriter profile and the promotion of the Black REwrite community. You retain ownership of everything you submit. This license ends when your profile is removed, except for archival copies and materials already shared through promotion.

4. Review, Publication & Removal

All applications are reviewed by our editors. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, publication, or any timeline for review. We may edit submitted materials for length, style, or formatting. We may decline, unpublish, or remove any profile at any time, at our sole discretion. You may request removal of your profile at any time by emailing support@blackrewrite.com.

5. Your Data & Communications

We store the information you submit in order to evaluate your application and, if approved, operate your public profile. We will email you about the status of your application. We do not sell your personal information. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact support@blackrewrite.com.

6. Conduct

You agree not to submit anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or misleading. Misrepresentation of identity or authorship is grounds for rejection or removal at any time.

7. No Employment or Agency Relationship

Submitting an application or holding a ReWriter profile does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship with Black REwrite, and does not entitle you to compensation.

8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The site and the ReWriter program are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Black REwrite is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your application, your profile, or the display of your materials. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Black REwrite from claims arising out of materials you submit or your breach of these Terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued maintenance of a published profile after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
